Baku, Finance Time. I Children’s Paralympic Games Games were held on November 6, 2015, with the joined organizational support of Azerbaijani National Paralympic Committee and Azercell Telecom LLC.

Ilgar Rahimov, president of National Paralympic Committee, made a speech at the opening ceremony of the festival at Sumgayit Paralympic Center underlining the achievements of our country in Paralympic Games, as well as the importance of the attention and care to this field and noted that he highly valued the cooperation with Azercell.  

Azercell Telecom’s president Vahid Mursaliyev expressed his pleasure with the existence of such a Paralympic Center in Sumgayit, second largest industrial city of the country: “I am sure that this Committee where more than 50 children and teenagers go in for various kinds of sports will grow to become future champions. Young Paralympic sportsmen performed resoluteness and made great achievement. Supporting them is very exciting and important for us. We believe that they will make Azerbaijani flag wave in many places.

Sportsmen competed in judo, boccia, tennis and swimming within I Children’s Paralympic Sports. After the award ceremony, a memorial picture was taken with the winners.

Children and young adults from various regions of the country gathered at Children’s Paralympic Games. The activity of the Committee is supported by Azercell Telecom. Some 50 children at the Committee got an opportunity to exercise and represent Azerbaijan in the international competitions. Paralympic sports masters and legends of I European Games, Ilham Zakiyev, Sabina Abdullayeva, Zakir Muslumov and others visited Azercell and meet company personnel in the summer.

Azercell will continue to support the activity of Children’s Paralympic Committee and its assistance to increase enthusiasm for the sport.
