This spring Zafferano restaurant presents the special promotion “White Asparagus”.
Known from past as the “vampire of the vegetable world”, white asparagus is one of the greatest spring ingredients. White asparagus is related to the classic green version, but because it’s grown underground and protected from sunlight, chlorophyll never forms. That’s what makes it white, and that’s also what makes its stalks so tender.
Asparagus is a perennial plant, from the Mediterranean and Asia Minor areas. The name itself comes from Greek language, which means “sprout”. Asparagus has been used as vegetable and medicine, and was pictured on an Egyptian frieze dating to 3000 BC. Later asparagus was cultivated in French monasteries, and noticed in England, Germany. And it became available for the New World in the United States, on XIX century.
Zafferano Restaurant is happy to launch a special spring Menu – White Asparagus Promotion, which will be available for guests from April 23th until May 7th. Menu is consisting of six dishes, including the starter, main dish and dessert. The guests are welcome to try new fascinating spring Menu at Zafferano during lunch and dinner.
