Baku, Finance Time. Bakcell – the First Mobile Operator and the Leading Mobile Internet Provider in Azerbaijan announces the start a brand new project within the frames of its “Football with Bakcell” program. Bakcell, being a partner of one of the world’s most famous football clubs “Manchester United” continues investing into Azerbaijani football.
Activity of Bakcell within its “Football with Bakcell” program included renaming the “8th kilometer Stadium” into “Bakcell Arena”, as well as commissioning complete football grounds at various districts of Baku. This time, Bakcell invites coaches from “Manchester United” Soccer School to Azerbaijan, thus taking its contribution to football in Azerbaijan to a whole new level. This initiative will create an opportunity to reveal talents among Azerbaijani youth, and turn children into future stars.
“Bakcell makes big attention and cares about the development of football in Azerbaijan being a part of two big projects in cooperation with Manchester United and Azerbaijani Football Federation Associations. Today, we are pleased to announce that Bakcell is bringing together these two big projects and launching Manchester United Soccer School in Azerbaijan. We believe that there is a great potential of young people in various regions of the country and they can give a lot to the future of Azerbaijani football. Manchester United Soccer School in Azerbaijan is a unique project which brings together young people, great brands, professional football and great locations” said Ms. Ainur Abzhanova Chief Marketing Officer of Bakcell, who spoke at the press conference dedicated to the start of this project.
It should be noted, that being one of the most famous football academies in the world, “Manchester United Football School” discovered such legends as David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.
Selection rounds for the school will be organized in Baku and several regions of Azerbaijan (Ganja, Mingachevir, Lenkoran and Sumgait) with support of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA). Thirty two selected young talents aged 8-12 will participate in training sessions, to be held by coaches from “Manchester United” football school at “Bakcell Arena” on 24-28 of June.

Elkhan Mammadov (AFFA Secretary General) who called this project a significant event for Azerbaijani football said: “We are delighted to see, that cooperation between AFFA and Bakcell continues to develop at an ever-increasing rate. “Football with Bakcell” Project, launched a while ago with participation of the world’s well-known football veterans, has attracted great public attention. In continuation of that, AFFA and Bakcell are on the eve of launching yet another noteworthy project. The fact that Bakcell has invited coaches from football school of one of the world’s most famous clubs - “Manchester United” to Azerbaijan, as well as the planned selection process, will become a very important event for development of football in our country. I hope that children, selected within the frames of this project, will become well-known figures in the football world”.
Five young talents selected by results of the training sessions will gain an opportunity to travel to the city of Manchester and visit legendary “Old Trafford” stadium, “Manchester United Football Academy", as well as the team’s training ground.
