Baku, Finance Time. The First Mobile Operator and the Leading Mobile Internet Provider of Azerbaijan informs that “Career in Mobile telecommunications” Project implemented jointly with Junior Achievement Azerbaijan (JAA) has come to an end.
Within the frames of this project, initiated in July 2012, 45 undergraduate students selected from Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute, Azerbaijan Technology University and Azerbaijan State Agrarian University have participated in trainings on work readiness, business ethics, management basics and mobile telecommunications business by means of industry-specific internship and training program.
After the trainings, 15 most successful participants of the project have learned operation principles, standard procedures and regulations during the internship at Bakcell customer service centers located in Ganja, Mingachevir and Sheki.
“Bakcell puts large investments to development of human resources. Mobile Telecommunications is relatively new sector for Azerbaijan, and we are very much interested in increasing the number of local specialists in this area. At the same time, significant interest in this sector shown by young people and their desire to learn became an important factor for us”, says Bakcell CEO Mr. Richard Shearer.
Starting from the year 2009, Bakcell and JAA are continually implementing the “Introduction to Mobile Telecommunications Business” Program on yearly basis. Within the frames of this cooperation, a textbook on mobile communications business has been composed for the first time in Azerbaijan. More than 150 students have participated in the project in the course of 4 years.
Executive director of JAA Mr. Rashad Khanlarov has indicated that knowledge gained by the students during this project will help them in making the right decisions and well-considered career planning in the future: “The pilot initiative implemented in Baku is now involving the regions of the country as well. I believe that this project will be long-lasting, and will cover even larger territory of our republic”.
