Bakcell, the First Mobile Operator and Leading Mobile Internet provider of Azerbaijan is pleased to announce that the company was honored with “GTB Innovation Award 2012” for provision and successful operation of in-building mobile communications system at “Baku Crystal Hall” Palace, the venue of Eurovision 2012 song contest.
Global Telecoms Business has presented its sixth annual awards for innovation in front of an audience of 360 industry leaders in London.
Mobile telecommunications infrastructure of “Baku Crystal Hall” was designed by Bakcell and installed by Komtel Company, which had previously implemented similar project at “TT Arena” – one of the Turkey’s largest stadiums. Unique systems of American Bravo Tech Inc. Company were used for this project.

90 stadium antennas especially purchased for this event, provided Bakcell customers with the best and highest quality communication. Customers of other Mobile operators in the country were also permitted to use the system during Eurovision. Throughout the whole contest Bakcell’s experts were controlling the system to ensure its flawless operation. 2G and 3G channels installed for use by all three operators, provided 32 000 subscribers with a possibility to use communications services.
