Azercell Telecom – the leader of the country’s mobile telecommunication market, has always paid a special attention to children rights protection and had once again led the way among the winners of the "Leave no child behind" award. The annual award, established by the “Hopeful Future” youth organization, jointly with the NGO Alliance for Children’s Rights, marks the contributions made by both individuals and organizations for the protection of children rights. The objective of the award is to identify those, who make a significant contribution to the protection of children rights in different areas, promote practices related to children protection, as well as attain achievements and reforms for positive changes in this field. Azercell has previously been granted with this award in 2006, 2007 and 2009.
We would also like to note that since its initiation, Azercell has striven to provide attention and care to children, to hold awareness campaigns to keep children problems on the agenda of the local society, as well as to invest in development of children. A number of Azercell projects as “Children Hotline”, “Mobile Dental Clinic”, “Mobile Eye Clinic”, the poem and novel competitions “De! Dildən-dilə, eldən-elə”, “Çək!” arts competition, “Every child needs a family”, “They are also waiting for presents…” have played an important role in the improvement of children welfare.
It is also to be noted, that, as a part of its social agenda dedicated to the beginning of the school year of 2013-2014, 4,000 children in need, residing in 19 boarding schools of Baku and regions, have received school bags with school supplies from Azercell.
The Company has also received a number of international awards for its tangible social projects, as the “Stevie award” for Corporate Social Responsibility in 2011, granted for its Mobile Dental Clinic and Mobile Eye Clinic initiatives. During its 17 years of operation on the mobile communications market of the country, Azercell has invested more than 14 million manats into the implementation of corporate social responsibility projects directed at children support, education and the socio-economic development of the country.
